Birthday Dinner

Well this was an interesting experience. We went to a nice Italian restaurant(the Italian job) and this lovely gentleman sung and even danced for us.(He wasn't even that bad at singing). Sorry about the quality it was from the digital camera. The food was awesome, however some of the people had some rather upset tummies, but we think that it was because they are still getting used to the heat. Yes, it was another birthday.

Good Times

Well despite missing you all a lot we have made some really great friends. Rich and Stacy are from America and are 2 doors away from us. We car pull pretty much everywhere with them and do sight seeing with them also. They are great to hang out with and it is funny all the times we cant understand each other and we are both speaking English.

We also have 2 other couples with no kids in our set of villas that we are friends with also. Tonight is a birthday dinner for one of them, a turkish guy called Mehmet.

It hasnt been hard to make friends, although none of them are near our age, we are fitting in well.

We do have one set of NZ friends, Delia and Nath who have lived here longer than us, he works in TV and she teaches at another school. We went to church with them last week which was cool.

The heat

Hi everyone,
I thought that I would inform you of the the nice weather that we are experiencing.
We are consistently having really nice weather. (Totally no rain at all) If anything maybe a little hot. It is nice though. We only sweat a little on the way from the car to the house or the other way around. It isn't even the middle of the summer and these are the temperatures. One thing that we find a little interesting is that we have a hot water cylinder for the house but we use it for cold water. Well until October we use it that way, then it gets turned on and used the way you normally use it (hot water cylinder for hot water). So I am not running on the road yet. Only on the treadmill. I will save the road habits for another entry.

It was quite a weird feeling for both of us leaving for a couple of years and going so far away from our families.
It all started when we paid a little bit extra for luggage. But it went through in the end.
The first flight we went on was to Sydney and that was a walk in the park. We arrived there and played on the free internet. Then we boarded the next flight to Dubai. This one was a loooooonnnnnnng one. 14 and a half hours. The plane was effected by some turbulence. Neither of us have ever been effected by motion sickness. Neither of us were sick but still felt rather bad. We were very glad to be off that flight.
We then arrived at Dubai airport. There were millions of people everywhere. That is a large airport.We got on the right flight and were in Doha within 45 mins. Then we went to collect our bags and found we were one short. After filling in all of these forms we were off. We got dropped at our house. Check out the pictures, all I can say is that it is huge and that it has good air conditioning.
