Hong Kong

Well we are now in Hong Kong. We are staying with Mike and Holly over here and it is like a hotel. The are really awesome and laid back like us.

Well so far we have been on a day trip to Lantau Island where there is this mighty big bhudda... But the best bit of it was the cable car back home. Some massive big drops if it broke. Wasn't to be when we were on there though.
The next day we went to Disneyland. It was awesome. You will see from the photos. It is the same as the L.A. but still really cool. Brought back a lot of memories of when we went there just before Katherine (Mum) passed away. Dad do you like the photo next to the indian... I have grown a little from the last one aye...

Then the next day we went to the Macau via a nice fast cat. We then spent 2 nights and 3 days at the Venetian hotel. It was rather flash. We got to do a bit of touring around Macau and watch the cirque du soleil. That was amazing. Totally different when you go to a purpose built stage. There were people flying everywhere... One word to describe it. AWESOME...

After that we went back to Hong Kong and back to the Mike and Holly hotel. We then went to the top of the peak. A really awesome view of both sides of Hong Kong.

We are off to Stanley Bay today which will be cool. I think it is a nice beach with some markets close by.

Weclome to Korea...

Well we have made it to Korea. It was quite an experience. When our plane landed we got shuffled off to a rain station... At an airport??? I was a little unsure so I asked an airport man (baggage claim on train)and all he said was yes. So we got on say a map saying that we were going to the main terminal. We go there and did the usual airport stuff. We walked to the bus station and got on our bus. While on the bus it started to snow. So when we got off we had to get pictures.

Then we met And and Mel near the bus station at the Golden Arches. We had a nice bus trip up to Seosan. Really cool catching up with Mel and Andy. The next day we tagged along to do there weekly shopping. Not the normal way we do weekly shopping. It was really nice to just be able to walk everywhere, well the normally just bike.

Then had a really nice Lunch at a traditional restaurant. Really cheap.

New Zealand Icing

The night before the Christmas play we stayed over at some Canadian friends house and then had to bake cookies in the morning. It was heaps of fun and Mark totally let the creative juices come out in his decorating of the cookies! The coolest thing was teaching the Canadians to make real icing! No more frosting, real icing it is! The decorating was heaps of fun and i think the cookies tasted umm although they all got eaten at the play and so i missed out!

Christmas Play 08

Well last night we did a Christmas play. Mark ran the whole of the sound by himself and Jenny acted, danced and sang! It was a bit of mission but was fun in the end. It involved a lot of rehearsals and stress but we pulled it off in the end! You can see more photos on Jenny's facebook.

First camel ride!

Last night we had the Christmas play which involved camels who the wise men rode in on. They were owned b a local Qatari man who rode them there and then at the end of the play Mark and I got to ride them. It was an amazing feeling, to be up on this huge animal! We had to hold on so tight when it went up and when it went down otherwise we would tumble off! The man was telling us all about them which was interesting. Anyone who comes over is gonna have to have a go!

Rain, rain go away, come again another day

Today we had the first rainfall of the year and it was amazing! Hail and rain came down all day. Jenny was at the mall when it started and some of the shops started flooding and had to close, then she had to drive home in the rain and the flooded roads. This country does not know what drains are! Besides the craziness it was so exciting to see rain and hail for the first time that Jenny couldnt resist getting out into it!
