Wonderful weather

Yes there is different weather in Doha. Can you spot the difference? These photo's were all taken within 3 hours.

Geocaching

Geocahing.
(Sort of Treasue hunting with a GPS). Finding things that people have hidden for others to find.

Well, we took the next step in our Geocaching career the other weekend. We placed our first cache over here. It was a little easy one in the middle of a thorn bush... We have a bus company over here that is everywhere and this is near their base. It didn't even take 24hrs for somebody to find it. They were really quick, we think that we will be setting up a few more caches as we both really enjoyed it. Here are some pictures of near the cache.

Doha Golf

The Pro Am (the Wednesday before the Open)
Well Mark had a nice day off school where he went to caddy for Adam Shane for the Pro Am with Paul Lawrie from Scotland. We went really well and finished with 13 under par. A nice day great weather and a cool time talking with Paul and his caddy Andy.

The Qatar Masters (4 rounds, Thur, Fri, Sat and Sun)
The next Set of photos are form the Qatar Masters. We went for one day. It rained yes you heard it right. It rained for the second time since we have been in Doha. We got to see all of the Pros. We were really happy. It was even free... When It rained nobody had any raincoats... I was even shivering as the rain and wind came down. But the sun came down and we all warmed up. Meaghan was a little cold standing up by her leader board...
It was a great time on the golf course, and a lot of nice grass. Really green and well looked after.

Duning

Well we went sand duning today, to the Singing Dunes. It actually sung for us. We drove in convoy with a whole group of teachers and it was really fun. We had to climb to the top of the dunes to hear the singing. We then slide down and there was this deep rumbling sound and that was the dunes singing. It was really cool, apparently there are only 40 places in the world that you can do it and we got it in Doha. So the faster you went the louder the 'singing' was.

While we were there Stephen, Brian, Alex and I went off roading until we got stuck. Luckily for us there a Qatari that pulled us out and we were able to get back to Doha. The Qatari even took us for a ride in his land cruiser. He was a mad man but that is the normal Qatari way to drive it was a great experience.
After this Mark went and did his geocaching. He got one and couldn't find the other... Oh well...
Another day in Doha.

Doha Mens Tennis

Well this was a great week. We went to the tennis for a couple of nights.
We got to see Nadal, Federer Murray, Kultriver and Rodick. It was really cool. Watching them in real life. Seeing the effort they put in and how close they can get to the lines. Nadal had a problem with this under garments... Jen got a couple of Photos of this... I was a little gutted that Nadal lost in the 1/4 final and that Federer lost in the semi(I really wanted him to win). Murray beat Rodick in the final 6-3 6-4. An easy win for Murray. It was great to watch.

Painting the house

Well Jen and I went looking for paint to see how much it was to see whether we should paint. It was cheap so we are painting. It is soo fun. If you spill it on the tiles it just wipes off. We have spent a couple of evenings doing it so far which is fun. Jen picked the colors. We are doing the lounge red and the bedroom ??? You will just have to wait and see.
Here are the first pics...

The Adam Shane Fan Club

Well the weekend just finished we were golf groupies. We had a friend playing in the Qatar Open. The one that is one step down from the masters. It was really cool. These are the photos of the first day. Yes I (Mark) did make a sign and carry it around nine holes. A great weekend. After the first round Adam was 4 over par. A very good score when you think that the masters is played here and it has the longest two holes in the whole of the European tour.
